Israel

The bus ride from Egypt to the border of Israel turned out to be more informative than I would have thought. I happened to sit accross  dron another traveler that spoke fluent English. He has been on the road for a while and was now looking for works. His field of expertese, robótica. A verry tallented and knowledgable individual.

Egypt

I flex from Sri Lanka to Egypt with a few day layover in Dubi landing in Alexandria I honestly did not know what to expect from Egypt. The little I knew about it came from movies and the bible. After landing and getting cash from the ATM I split a cab with a young guy I met on the light that was headding the dame way. After a 45 minute ride we were droped off  next to the port of Alexandria. We quickley found a falafel stand for a bite and pared ways. The hostel I booked was a simple multi story hotel  / motel than a hostel.  My very pink had a queen bed, TV and little desk  with a comunal bathroom across the hall for $5 a night. Over the next few days I explorer the massive fort Citadel of Qaitbay, an adventurious site to behold. Out of massive carved stone blocks its a impressive sight to see. The view from the top displayes the cost of Alexandria as of a pastel painting. The yellow of the massive fort contraste against the blues meditranian sea with the cost...

Thailand

I was just getting out of my second devorice, closing esscrow for the second time in 3 months. We had just bought our first house 3 months after getting married and now I was selling it to fiinalize our devorice. My awesome daughter just a bout to head off for colledge. I decide theres no beter time then now to explore this world so bought my 1 way ticket to Thailand for $250 and gave my company  3 months notice. I downsized my life to fit into a 38L ospray backpack. Thailand is one of the best countries for a solo traveler to start theresa courtney. As massive and busy as Bangkock is, english is spoken  most everywhere and once you brave the world thew a chatty tuck tuck driver as you whip down side streets, sidewalks and on comming traffic youll know youve arived at your destination by the grace of God.  My first hostel experiance of many was just around the córner from the forever party of Khao San Road, with ita blasting bonbardment of combatting music from one ...

Last week in Colombia

I spoke to my daughter today after bouncing of another phone hotspot. WhatsApp is the best way to talk while I travle. She told me shes getting married in a week.  I just learned that she was engadged last month. Its been a year and 2 months since I was sentanced to 7 years in a Colombian prision. I try to call my daughter and mom once a week as I bounced from country to country the past few years. Over the past 4 years Ive managed to hit 30 countries backpacking and hitchhiking from one town to the next. Just out of my second failed marriage at 38 I sold everything I had, house, car and dog and booked my one way ticket to Bangkok Thailand.  I spend the majorty of my days lounging in a lime green hammock suspended by ropes made from torn and braided towels, sheets and blankets from the upper bars that strech accross the roof of our 15' x 15' concreet cell. My home ror the past 14 months, accompanied by anywhere from 18-24 of Colombiana most dangerious and volitile person...
